Black Matt Spray Paint

Black matt spray paint is an aerosol paint that gives a flat, deep black finish with no shine. It is used for craft, DIY and decorating projects where a smooth, even coat is wanted without a brush.

What a Matt Black Finish Looks Like

A matt black finish is flat and non-reflective, so it does not show glare under bright light. It tends to look softer and more modern than a gloss finish. A matt coat also makes small marks on a surface less noticeable than gloss does.

Ways to Use Black Matt Spray Paint

Black matt spray paint suits small projects where a clean, even colour matters. Check the can for the surfaces it is made for before you start.

  • Craft projects and decorative pieces
  • Picture frames and small home accessories
  • Updating old items that have faded or worn
  • Smaller DIY jobs where a brush would leave marks

How to Spray Black Matt Paint Evenly

Spray paint gives the best result when it is applied in thin, light coats. Shake the can well before use and keep it moving as you spray. Hold it at the distance shown on the can.

Several light coats look smoother than one heavy coat, which can run or drip. Work in a well-ventilated area and keep the can away from heat and flames. Always follow the instructions and safety warnings printed on the can.

Black Matt Spray Paint FAQ

What does matt mean on spray paint?

Matt means the paint dries to a flat finish with no shine. Gloss is shiny and reflective, and satin sits somewhere between the two.

Should I shake the can before spraying?

Yes, shake the can well before you start. This mixes the paint so the colour sprays evenly. Check the can for how long to shake it.

Is it better to spray one thick coat or several thin ones?

Several thin coats usually give a smoother result than one thick coat. Thick coats are more likely to run or drip.

Add black matt spray paint to your basket ready for your next project.

Disclaimer

We take great care when preparing and securely packing every order; however, during transportation, parcels may be handled by several parties, including the courier, and despite our best efforts, minor cosmetic damage such as dents, marks, scuffs or damage to external packaging may occasionally occur. Minor cosmetic damage that does not affect the product’s safety, quality or intended use will not normally be considered a product defect. This is particularly applicable to products supplied in cans, tins, plastic containers, boxes or similar packaging. If you receive a product that is broken, leaking, materially damaged, unsafe, unusable or otherwise not as described, please contact us within 24 Hours of delivery by email or telephone and provide your order number, details of the issue and clear photographs of the damaged product and packaging. We may require further information or evidence to investigate the matter and, where necessary, may take up to 14 days to complete our investigation. Where damage appears to have occurred during delivery, we may need to raise a claim with the courier, and you may be required to complete and return any Damage on Receipt (DOR) form or other documentation requested by the courier before the claim can be processed. Some products we sell are price-marked or display a manufacturer’s recommended or printed retail price. Please note that our online selling prices may differ from the price printed on the product because online orders involve additional costs such as picking, packing, packaging materials, warehouse handling, payment processing, website administration and delivery-related costs. You may therefore receive a product displaying a printed or recommended retail price that is lower than the price you paid online. The price you agree to pay is the online selling price displayed on our website at the time you place your order, and the presence of a lower printed or recommended retail price on the packaging does not, by itself, mean that the online purchase price was incorrect. Product images displayed on our website are for illustration and presentation purposes only. Actual product packaging, branding, design, colour, size, shape or appearance may vary depending on availability, manufacturer, batch or packaging updates. Such variations do not necessarily indicate that the product supplied is different from the product ordered, provided that the product itself corresponds to the description and specifications stated on the website. We ask customers to check their order and products as soon as reasonably possible after delivery and contact us promptly if there is any material damage, fault, incorrect item or issue with the goods.
