Duracell CR2430 3V Lithium Battery

The Duracell CR2430 is a 3V lithium coin cell battery. It is a flat, round battery used in small devices such as car key fobs, digital scales, small remotes and some watches.

Check the code printed on your old battery or in the device's manual before you order. If it says CR2430, this is the battery you need.

What CR2430 Means

The CR2430 code describes the battery's type and size. The letters CR mean it is a round lithium battery. The first two numbers mean it is about 24mm across, and the last two mean it is about 3mm thick.

This size makes the CR2430 a little wider and thicker than the common CR2032. The two are not interchangeable, even though they look alike. Always match the full code. Some packs and devices also show the code DL2430, which refers to the same size.

Where a CR2430 Battery Is Used

A 3V coin cell like this is made for small devices that draw a little power over a long time. These are some common uses:

Fitting the Battery

Fit the Duracell CR2430 the same way round as the old battery. On most devices the flat side with the markings, the positive side, faces up. Look at the compartment or take a quick photo before you remove the old cell.

Keep coin batteries away from young children and pets. Dispose of the old battery at a battery recycling point.

Is a CR2430 the same as a CR2032?

No. A CR2430 is about 24mm wide and 3mm thick, while a CR2032 is about 20mm wide and 3.2mm thick. They do not fit the same battery holders, so use the size your device asks for.

Is a CR2430 battery rechargeable?

No. A CR2430 is a single-use lithium coin cell and should not be recharged. When it runs out, replace it with a new one.

Which way round does a CR2430 go?

It depends on the device, but the positive side with the markings usually faces up. Follow the symbols in the battery compartment or the device's manual.
