Salted Corn Nuts

Salted corn nuts are large, crunchy corn kernels that are cooked until hard and crisp, then seasoned with salt. They are made for snacking straight from the bowl, and they also work as a crunchy topping.

What Salted Corn Nuts Taste Like

Salted corn nuts have a very firm, loud crunch that is quite different from crisps or popcorn. The taste is toasty and savoury, with a clear corn flavour and a salty finish.

Each kernel is dense and chunky, so a small handful goes a long way. Chew them slowly, because they are much harder than most snacks.

Ways to Use Salted Corn Nuts

Most people eat salted corn nuts as a simple bowl snack, but they also add crunch to other food. Here are some easy ideas:

  • Serve them in a bowl with drinks, or at a party or film night.
  • Mix them into a homemade snack mix with pretzels, peanuts and dried fruit.
  • Scatter them over a Mexican-style salad, chilli or tacos for extra crunch.
  • Crush them lightly and sprinkle over soup instead of croutons.
  • Add a handful to a packed lunch or a lunchbox snack for adults.

A quick tip: add salted corn nuts at the last moment when topping a dish. They stay crunchy for longer that way. They are already salty, so go easy on the salt in the rest of the recipe.

Salted Corn Nuts FAQ

Are corn nuts made from nuts?

No, corn nuts are made from corn kernels. The name comes from their hard, nutty crunch. If you have an allergy, check the allergen information on this page before buying.

Are corn nuts the same as popcorn?

No, they are a different snack. Popcorn is corn that has popped open and is light and airy. Corn nuts are whole kernels that stay dense and very crunchy.

Will corn nuts go soft in a salad or soup?

They soften slowly, so they hold their crunch for a few minutes. Add them just before serving for the best bite.

Add salted corn nuts to your basket for your next snack bowl, party mix or taco night.

You may therefore receive a product displaying a printed or recommended retail price that is lower than the price you paid online. The price you agree to pay is the online selling price displayed on our website at the time you place your order, and the presence of a lower printed or recommended retail price on the packaging does not, by itself, mean that the online purchase price was incorrect.
